Mr Bee's Wildflower Raw Honey

Mr Bee's Wildflower Raw Honey

This listing is for one x 454g jar of extracted raw honey harvested from our bees at Mrs Bee's Emporium Towers.

PLEASE NOTE: HONEY STIRRERS ARE NOT INCLUDED

Each 1lb / 454g jar features Dom and Florence on the label, as they have looked after the bees all year and manually extracted the honey from the frames using a centrifugal extractor. It was then jarred in our kitchen into sterilised jars, according to the guidance by the BBKA (British Beekeepers Association)

We only have 50 jars of 2021 honey and expect them to sell quickly. Hopefully we will have more next year.

The bees now live the life of luxury in a local farm, amongst sapling trees, and are free to forage wherever they choose. Technically, this is described as wildflower honey as the bees come and go as they please (and we don't check up on them... 😂)

Ottringham Honey is set honey, as a lot of Oilseed Rape crops were planted around the village in 2021, and the honey produced from rape seed pollen tends to produce a white, creamy textured honey which is delicious on toast or stirred into tea. It crystallizes more quickly than runny honey. If you prefer runny honey, you can melt some in a double boiler on the hob, or put some into the microwave for a few seconds. The taste is the same, but you may possibly lose some of the naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants and nutrients if you increase the heat of the honey too much. It will, however, still taste delicious. It is entirely personal preference.

Honey is a natural antiseptic and has been used as such through the centuries. Therefore, it doesn't go off - honey found in the pyramids was still edible. We don't recommend that you leave it that long - keep it in a cool, dark cupboard with the lid on (not the fridge) and you should be able to use it up within a couple of months of opening. We recommend that the honey will be best before January 2023.

Unsuitable for children under 12 months.

A very happy repeat customer!

Mrs Bee’s is a wonderful small business who really go the extra mile to ensure shopping with them is as much of a treat as the products are. I’ve shopped with them a number of times, this latest purchase was a jar of very special honey for my granny who absolutely adores it. The packaging is lovely and it arrived quickly and was safely packed in layers of bubble wrap and cardboard. Thanks again Mrs Bee!

Local Honey

Item was delivered very promptly. (And with a smile!) Packaging is beautiful. The honey is a Christmas gift for my daughter’s French boyfriend who loves honey! Love the local feel to it as it’s a gift that will be travelling across the miles!
